United Beauty Launch New Training Academy

United Beauty Launch New Training Academy

United Beauty Products, home of Star Nails, have opened a purpose built training academy at their head office in Corby, Northamptonshire.

Following a six-figure investment on the site, United Beauty have created one of the most advanced training venues for professional nail and tanning systems in the UK.

The training academy will become a centre of excellence for both aspiring and experienced nail technicians and will offer a range of courses teaching the principles in application of professional nail and spray tanning systems.

Jane Cook, who joins United Beauty in the role of technical manager, will oversee the academy and is responsible for developing the technical content of all national training courses and will also help inform the new product development process. Jane holds an impressive record within the professional nail industry and joins the company from Creative Nail Design.

Commenting on the academy Jane said: “The launch of the United Beauty Training Academy marks a further step forward in our desire to provide the best quality training and education within the industry. We are intent on improving technical standards and offering a comprehensive package of training courses that meet our customer requirements, nationwide. All our courses are structured to follow a rigorous programme of practical and academic tuition. The skills learnt on our courses enable trainees to develop their nail skills and undertake a career in their chosen field."

The academy will offer courses in the following disciplines:

  • Professional Nail Systems
  • Acrylic, Gel and Fibreglass
  • Conversion Workshops
  • Nail Art
  • Manicure and Pedicure
  • Advanced Workshops
  • NVQ Levels 1, 2 and 3 (Starting September 2006)
  • and Spray Tanning Systems.

The academy benefits from the latest innovations in professional salon design such as fully ventilated Purex workstations and a range of pedicure stations, to provide the most comfortable training environment.

Mike Russell, managing director, set out the company’s intentions: “Our investment in training and people, not just at the academy but across the UK, clearly demonstrates our commitment to provide the highest levels of professional nail and tanning training. We are constantly striving to set the standards for the industry. The heritage we have with Star Nails, and all our other brands, gives us a great platform to reach the marketplace.”

The academy was officially opened by Andrea Fulerton, British Nail Technician of the Year, at a grand launch on 5th July and is one of a number of improvements being made at the company. Eleven dedicated nail technician trainers who are located throughout the UK support the national training programme. Within the year United Beauty will roll-out a series of innovative product launches, brand extensions and undertake an overhaul of their existing product ranges, which are sold in more than 35 countries worldwide.

Further information on courses running at the academy can be obtained by calling the United Beauty Training Hotline on 08456 01 01 96 or by visiting www.unitedbeauty.co.uk/training.
